Wiles of the devil Bible verse

“Wiles of the devil” appears in Ephesians 6:11 and highlights a significant biblical theme about spiritual warfare. It serves as a call to Christians to prepare themselves against the devil's deceptive tactics and strategies, which aim to lead them into sin and away from God.

The term “wiles” translates to schemes, tricks, or cunning methods employed by the devil to manipulate and deceive. These methods often include subtle temptations, lies, and distortions of truth designed to make sin appear attractive or righteous. The Bible warns that the devil, described as the “father of lies” (John 8:44), works tirelessly to undermine faith, spread falsehoods, and exploit human weaknesses.

In the broader context of Ephesians 6:10–18, the Apostle Paul instructs believers to equip themselves with the "armor of God" to resist these attacks. This armor includes six components:

1. Belt of Truth: Symbolizing honesty and the foundational truth of God’s Word.

2. Breastplate of Righteousness: Representing moral integrity and living in alignment with God’s will.

3. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace: Emphasizing readiness to share the message of Christ and maintain peace.

4. Shield of Faith: Used to extinguish the “fiery darts” of doubt, fear, and temptation.

5. Helmet of Salvation: Protecting the mind with assurance of salvation and hope in Christ.

6. Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God, which is the believer’s offensive weapon against lies and deception.

Paul emphasizes that this spiritual armor is not physical but is empowered by God’s strength. Believers must put it on through prayer, faith, and diligent study of Scripture, enabling them to stand firm against spiritual adversaries.

The verse reminds Christians that the devil's schemes are calculated and relentless but not insurmountable. By relying on God's power, truth, and guidance, they can discern his tricks and overcome them. This message reinforces the necessity of vigilance, spiritual discipline, and dependence on God to lead a life of victory over sin and temptation.

Benefits of praying at 12 midnight

We all already know that there are evil activities that take place at midnight, and our safety lies in the power of our prayers. Since the kingdom of darkness operates at midnight, it is our duty as Christians to also stay awake to wage war against their schemes in our lives, destinies, and everything that concerns us.    The enemy can operate at any time; that is why the word of God urged us to stay vigilant at all times because our enemy, the devil, is never tired of trying to harm us. 1 peter 5:8   We will be discussing the benefits of midnight prayer. Prayer should be part of our daily lifestyle because, in the Bible, we are instructed to pray without season according to 1 Thessalonians 5:17    So, the reason for the midnight prayer is that it is the time evil is at work, and to pray at that time is to avert those evil activities from having any effect on our lives.    Acts 16:22-40 revealed the benefit of midnight prayer when Paul and Silas...
