The Bible clearly states the fact about the transfiguration of man into an immortal being either into the abode of God called heaven or in the abode of satan called hell. The Bible further explains the afterlife, how the present life will determine the permanent placement of life after death for its eternal existence.
Death is inevitable because it is a price everyone clothed in human flesh will one day pay, but after death, the event of Hebrews 9:27 takes effect immediately to decide the eternal destination of the departed soul.
Also, there is a death that leads to eternal life, and death that leads to eternal death known as the second death(Revelation 20:14-15). Eternal death is a result of a sinful lifestyle lived while on earth because death is the penalty for sin. (Romans 6:23a; Ezekiel 18:4; James 1:15)
To my dear reader, are you a sinner? There is no future for a sinner than eternal death. Of what joy will it be to sinfully enjoy the pressures of this world and end up as a candidate of hell which is the final destination of eternal death?
Yes, we were once sinners until Christ saved us Romans 5:8-21, He took the penalty and burden of sin off our shoulders and paid a way for us into immortality with Him in heaven in John 3:15-16; 10:28; Titus 1:2; 3:7; Jude 1:21.
So, when a righteous person dies, we weep because we are going to miss him not because he is dead, but because he will be translated into immortality to be with the Lord according to Luke 6:22. And if eventually a righteous person also did not die before the rapture then what the scripture said in 1Corinthians 15:53-54; Matthew 24:36-44 will be fulfilled.
Our body is meant to decay but the soul lives forever. Why not labor on things of eternal value? Invest now in eternity with Jesus by living above sin, acknowledging His sacrifice on the cross, and living up to heaven's expectations for your life.
Say this prayer if you are making that decision now:
Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all my sins, forgive me all my sins and make me the better person you want me to be. Starting today, I will live all for you, give me the grace to remain faithful and committed to you alone in Jesus' name, Amen.
God bless you.
